Day 2

Cael and Gaven are so "up to date" with technology that they actually look thru our text messages and facebook news feeds.  We probably need to look into parental control on our phones.  They've been asking tons of questions about 'Elf on the Shelf".  When they got off the school bus today, low and behold, there was an Elf hanging on the basement door.  Cael shouted "Yeah, he finally showed up".

The book that accompanies the Elf was found under the tree.  Cael took a few minutes to read the book to Gaven and Karter. They have named him Spirit.

As a tradition of at least 3 years now, my friend Jen and I take the kids to the Christmas parade.  Rain, snow or freezing cold conditions can not keep us away.  Tonight was no exception.  Dressed as warm as possible, we loaded the kids and headed to North Broadway to watch the parade.  This year, we were joined by a special guest.  Robert Bartenschlager, from Germany, took part in the viewing of the parade.  He tells us that Germany does not have such parades as this.  We hope he joins in this tradition for years to come.

Jen and Robert wanted to go bowling with the boys. We ditched Karter with my cousin Abby, picked up Shane, and headed to the bowling alley.  UA accompanied us to the bowling alley for a few good laughs.  He kicked all of our butts.

Uncle Andrew's victory dance!
